IN
a year that has already been the site of so many saddening departures, one unexpected return that’s been thrilling music lovers is that of Liverpool indie rockers The Coral.

Laying dormant for many years following the release of their 2010 LP Butterfly House, the band delighted their fanbase in the latter stages of 2015 by announcing Distance Inbetween, their forthcoming studio album and one which looks to set to reassert their intangible knack for crafting truly uplifting music.

Having already teased fans with the stellar ‘Chasing The Tail Of A Dream’ late last year, the band have now graced us with the wondrous ‘Miss Fortune’.

Armed with a hazy and inviting aesthetic that aligns it with the more subversive end of 60’s psych pop, ‘Miss Fortune’ features entrancing organ, effects-laden guitars and the ever magnificent delivery of frontman James Skelly. Veering into the territory of Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd with its eccentric flourishes and mesmerising style, ‘Miss Fortune’ furthers the bold step forward that was taken on ‘Chasing The Tail Of A Dream’ but incorporates many of the pop friendly tropes that aided them in becoming such a force in British guitar music.

Distance Inbetween will be released on the 4th March 2016.
