TAKING place on Saturday 19th April, Record Store Day 2014  will celebrate independent music stores with a host of special releases.

We have picked out a few tracks that we are most excited about:

  • Fellow rising stars Temples and Jagwar Ma will take a turn at re-mixing one track of each other’s. Jagwar Ma try their hand at Temple’s ‘Shelter Song’, whilst in return Temples will cover ‘Man I Need’. Read our review of Jagwar Ma’s effort here.
  • Jake Bugg will release a four track EP Live at Silver Platters, which will contain songs from both his debut album and his follow-up Shangri La. The EP was recorded at his sold out show at Silver Platters, with all the songs stripped back acoustics versions.
  • Another trade off as LA band Dawes will cover the Bright Eyes song ‘Easy/Lucky/Free/, whilst Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes will cover ‘Million Dollar Bill’. Check out the session Dawes did with us earlier in the year here.
  • Catfish and the Bottlemen will release their recent single ‘Kathleen’ as a one-sided 7” vinyl. Check out our review of the track here.
  • Charles Bradley will release a limited edition 12” (only 2000 copies) called ‘I Hope You Find the Good Life’. The record will contain four tracks, two of which are instrumentals. Check out our video of Bradley’s amazing show at Glasgow’s O2 ABC here.
  • Irish rockers Kodaline will release a cover of Paul McCartney’s song ‘Coming Up’ on 7” white vinyl, and there are just 500 copies! Check out the session that we did with Kodaline here.
